How does the listener stipend / compensation work? +

Listeners are compensated with an hourly or scheduled-shift stipend of $18.00 to $25.00 honoring their dedicated phone availability. Payments are processed via direct deposit or check bi-weekly directly by Hope 53 Ministries Inc.

Will callers see my personal phone number? +

No. Our automated telephony system forwards calls to your device while completely masking both your personal phone number and the caller's number to ensure privacy and safety.

What happens if a caller has questions I don't know how to answer? +

You are not expected to have all theological or life answers. Your primary responsibility is to be a compassionate listening ear, remind the person of God's unchanging love, and lead a gentle prayer of peace. We provide an orientation handbook with scripture promises to guide you.

What if a caller is in severe psychiatric crisis? +

All listeners receive straightforward guidelines on crisis de-escalation: if someone indicates imminent danger or thoughts of self-harm, listeners calmly direct them to the free national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and notify our ministry supervisor.
